Situated at 35 Little Russell Street, London WC1A 2HH The Cartoon Art Museum has a wonderful selection of British comics artwork by legendary artists Dudley Watkins, Frank Hampson, Leo Baxendale, Don Lawrence, Frank Bellamy and Ron Turner, just to mention a few. There are also comprehensive sections for political cartoons and newspaper strips. There are regular exhibitions of the various UK comics genres featuring stories, biographies, artwork and the original comics. Their website is www.cartoonmuseum.org An absolute must for students, enthusiasts and collectors and you also get the bonus of a jolly good laugh.

Jason Joiner runs the London Comic Mart at The Royal National Hotel WC2 on the first Sunday of the week each month. Mainly showcasing U S comics, Silver Age stalwarts like Dave Finn, Paul McCartney and the Scott brothers offer mouth-watering selections whilst US titan, Harley Yee, regularly brings his fabulous stock of Golden and Silver Age issues from across the pond to tempt you. There are British comics dealers too and Phil Clark’s full selection of UK comics and artwork is always keenly priced and affordable whilst Paul Hudson straddles both American and British merchandise with his usual brand of gentle bonhomie.
