63 page complete story artworks
for Commando War Stories In Pictures No 83 (1961). By Julio 'Chiche' Medrano*
"Spitfire and Messerschmitt - the two greatest fighting planes in the world.
Evenly matched, there was only one factor that could make any difference between
them, and that was the men who flew them"
Complete 63 page illustrated story - the only known example of a complete Commando
artwork ever to be offered for auction.
Indian ink on card. 13 x 9 ins (63 pages)

*Julio 'Chiche' Medrano (1941-2010)
worked under the pen-name A. Martinez and drew many illustrations for German and
British comics and publications from his home in Spain. His sharply detailed work
in black and white suited the medium perfectly and like so many commercial artists
much of his talent went unrecognised. He excelled with his illustrations of The
Falklands conflict for Fierro Magazine in 1982 and drew D'Artagnan and Fantasy
for Editorial Columba. Also Skorpio, Tit-Bits, Pif Paf and Gunga Din for Ediciones
Record. Julio Cesar Medrano died on July 23 2010.
