Mighty Midgets 'Blitz' books (1940-44) by W Barton
1, 2, 11-22, 25, 27, 31, 34, 40, 41, 43, 45, 47, 53
Sold by Woolworth's at 3d each during WW2, these Mighty Midgets helped distract children in air-raid shelters and underground stations during bombing raids over London. Consequently they became known as 'Blitz' books and are rare. Titles including Mitzi The Marvel, Spitfire Sabotage, Aladdin, Gulliver's Travels, Tom Thumb, Sinbad, Convoy In Danger, Commando Leader, Revenge In The Fiord and Anti-Gas.
