Bibliography: William Stobbs was born in 1914 and was Head of Design at The London College of Printing 1950-58. He illustrated more than 100 books including 20 of his own and ‘Cortez’ appears to be his only comic strip work.

Dan Dare original model rocket-ship (c1951) Designed by Frank Hampson for his studio and made by Walkden Fisher, Bruce Cornwell and Eric Eden, the cut-away detailed interior shows Col. Dare piloting the rocket 142 x 38 cms (56x15ins). Models from the Frank Hampson studio do not come onto the open market and this rocket-ship, from which several spacecraft were conceived, is probably the most important Dan Dare piece ever to be offered for sale. Light general wear.
