"Our Gang" was first introduced in The Dandy on 4 January 1937 and ran mirthfully for the following ten years. Alfalfa, Spanky, Darla, Buckwheat, Scotty, Billy, Porky, Patsy and Pete The Pup - "The Young Rips" referred to in these panels - were comic creations from the "Our Gang" MGM film by Hal Roach, brilliantly caricatured by Dudley Watkins for The Dandy readers.
